Bernardo Silva is rated as one of the best midfielders in recent times he is one of the great assets for Manchester city and highly appreciated by the Pep Guardiola who is the head coach of Manchester City.

Bernardo Silva believes “taking Cristiano Ronaldo’s place is impossible” there is no point fo comparing and emulating one of the greats of the game.

A five-time Ballon d’Or winner still rated as the main man for Portugal in every game. Ronaldo scored 99 goals in 164 matches for Portugal.

Ronaldo played a major role in Euro 2016 glory and the inaugural Uefa Nations League however Bernardo silva was awarded the Best player of the Uefa Nations League. Ronaldo secured his place as one of the greats with the two trophies in his cabinet with the national team Portugal.

There will come a time when Portugal great(Cristiano Ronaldo) walks away and someone has to step ahead and lead the team.

Silva is rated as one of the best players for both club and the country with the ability and experience that he has there is no doubt that he can lead the team after Cristiano Ronaldo.

Silva told AS: “Taking Cristiano’s place is impossible. Nobody is going to do that, it’s just impossible to emulate what he has done in his footballing career.

“I’m going to try and give everything and always keep improving so that I can do the best I can for Portugal and my club(Manchester City) – helping my country and team to win everything possible.”

While talking about Portugal great(Cristiano Ronaldo) at the international level, Silva continues to talk regarding the players at the club.

Sergio Aguero remains a prolific Goalscorer for City, as the club’s all-time leading goalscorer. He has shown his performance in every game that he has played with the club.

Argentine is very close to breaking Alan Shearer’s Premier League record of 260 goals.

Aguero is 80 goals short of breaking the Alan Shearer’s Premier League goalscoring record, but Silva has said: “Kun is goals. There’s nothing more to say about him.

“He hits it so hard. If you give him a bad ball, he hits it well. It’s so good to have a player who scores so easily.

“That’s why he’s the player with most goals in City’s history and I think he’s very close to breaking the record for the most number of goals in Premier League history. If he carries on like this he’ll get there.”

Another team-mate that Silva appreciated a lot and have a great connection on the field is David Silva. The Spaniard wants to prolong his career after leaving Manchester City when his current contract expires in the summer.

“He’s got a lot of football left in him,” said Bernardo.

“With David’s style of play he can play as long as he wants, he is a player with great ability. He’s really smart, he always makes the right choices and he’s physically very fit and in great shape. He can play for as long as he wants.”
