PSG firmly support Neymar after the winger accuses Marseille’s Gonzalez of racism.

Paris Saint Germain published a statement on Monday in which the club said they strongly support Neymar after the Brazilian was blamed Marseille’s Alvaro Gonzalez of racially abusing him during the match.

Neymar was one of the players out of five who was sent off during the match against Marseille. PSG lost the match with a 1-0 scoreline against Marseille. PSG have two consecutive losses in two matches since the new season started.

The PSG star player was not at all happy after he was sent off for slapping Gonzalez on the back of the head, which was certainly seen when the referee has taken the VAR for the clear view. Neymar later accused the Marseille defender of making racist accusations towards him.

That match incident followed with 5 red cards and 10 yellow cards. Neymar posted it on Twitter after that incident that his only regret was “not hitting that asshole in the face”.

Gonzalez also responded to it on twitter and denied all the allegations claimed by Neymar, replying, “Sometimes you have to learn how to lose and accept it on the field.”

Paris Saint Germain coach Thomas Tuchel and Marseille manager have their own say and said they have not heard any racial abuse during the game and there is no place for racism in a football game.

PSG issued a statement in which they have strongly supported Neymar. The club said that they want Ligue 1 and the French federation to look after in this matter and investigate the conflict that happened during the match against PSG vs Marseille.

The club stated “Paris Saint-Germain strongly defends Neymar Jr. who reported being subjected to racist abuse by an opposing player,”

The club further added ” There is no place for racism in society, in football or in our lives and calls on everyone to speak out against all forms of racism throughout the world.

“For more than 15 years the club has been strongly committed to the fight against all forms of discrimination alongside its partners SOS Racisme, Licra and Sportitude.

“Paris Saint-Germain looks forward to the LFP’s Disciplinary Commission to investigate and ascertain the facts, and the club remains at the LFP’s disposal for any assistance required.”

While Neymar was not the only player who was sent off, it includes Layvin Kurzawa, Leandro Paredes from PSG, and Jordan Amavi, Dario Benedetto from Marseille who was dismissed before the stoppage time.

At last, Marseille defeated Paris Saint Germain. Florian Thauvin only goal for Marseille secured the win for the team with the club delivering two wins from two matches. Marseille’s next match will be against Saint-Etienne on Thursday.

While PSG is still looking for the first win of the season. PSG’s next match will be against Metz on Wednesday.
