LIVERPOOL PREMIER LEAGUE:-

Danny Murphy says Jordan Henderson is the biggest miss in Liverpool’s midfield when he is not available in the team due to injuries, he also considered Georginio Wijnaldum and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain as a big match player who has proven their worth for Liverpool.

The Reds have been the most dominant football team in Europe and this has been not possible without Jurgen Klopp. Jurgen Klopp made his team to work more as collectively rather than an individual.

Uefa champions league crown in 2019 made Liverpool the king of Europe. Mohammed Salah, Sadio Mane, and Roberto Firmino became the most lethal attacking trio in Europe, while Alisson, Virgil van Dijk, and Trent Alexander-Arnold have been phenomenal at the back.

The former Liverpool player told the club’s official website “I appreciate them all, to be honest, they are the best team in terms of their ability to fit in. Very rarely do you watch Liverpool play and think, ‘Oh, they’re weaker today?

“Jordan is probably the one biggest miss in their midfield due to the ability to create chances for others, partly because of his leadership as well. I’m a big fan of Wijnaldum. He’s a big match player and very good on the ball and in tight positions. Very, very often he is one of those players who wriggles out of a little tight situation and gets Liverpool on the front foot.

“The one thing more about that midfield I say when I talk about it is every single one of them – I call them ‘proper midfielders’ – does all the bits needed. They still go forward and press and try to get in the box. Ox is probably one of the best at it when he plays more often.

“But they all do their defensive work on the field – they all track the players, they all fill space, they all spot danger. And I don’t think that the Liverpool system works in the same manner if one of the three didn’t have the discipline to do that. They all know the job on the field and they do brilliantly.”

Liverpool has been outstanding for the last two years .out of two champions league final in the last two years they have won once in 2019. Liverpool has been consistent in the premier league as well, they missed the premier league with 1 point in 2019 and in 2020 they are at the top of the league table with 82 points, however, the football major leagues and tournament have been stopped due to coronavirus pandemic.

Former England international further added“I think the team has completely evolved since Jurgen Klopp has taken the managerial role at Liverpool. It has got a bit more wisdom in it, in terms of when to take your foot off the gas from pressing, when to see out a game, when to drop off sometimes. They are much more tactically aware of every situation on the field.

“Yes, they are a high-press team with great energy, enthusiasm and the fitness levels of every player are incredible, and Klopp’s coaching staff and sports science team deserve great credit for that.

“But when people talk about Liverpool this season not hitting the heights of maybe last season or the one before in terms of sometimes steamrollering teams and loads of free-flowing football, it’s because they’re managing games better.

“It’s because they don’t necessarily, when they go a goal up away from home or two up, go all-out, 100 percent press, hell for leather.

“I think the biggest thing that we must appreciate with the Liverpool side at the moment is the hunger for winning games and the discipline.”
