ROBERT LEWANDOWSKI UPDATES:-

Ilkay Gundogan hailed his former teammate Lewandowski as one of the best striker in the world right now.

Lewandowski and Gundogan shared three season together at borussia dortmund under Jurgen Klopp from 2011 to 2014.

Under Jurgen Klopp,they helped Dortmund to won two Bundesliga titles together in successive years 2011 and 2012.They helped to won their third DFB-POKAL in 2012,they have also went on to reach champions league final in 2013,in which they have lost to their rival Bayern Munich in final with 2-1 scoreline.

In 2014 Robert Lewandowski move to Bayern Munich and after two years Gundogan moved to manchester city to play under Pep Guardiola.

Gundogan went on to win premier league in successive years in 2018 and 2019.Gundogan played with one of the best striker in premier league history Kun Aguero but he still believes and hailes lewandowski as a complete attacker.

Gundogan told DAZN”It was a pleasure and complete joy to play with him. He has improved again and again,”.

“Technically he was gifted and great player by his qualities, now he also has that cool head. The way he scored the goals is just outstanding.

“For me he is one of the best and most complete striker in the world football right now.”

Gundogan also had a full praise and appreciation for the current liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp under which he has played when he was at Dortmund.

He(Gundogan)said”Klopp’s philosophy? Getting the ball back, a fast and quick switching game, making combinations and then be cool and calm in front of goal,” he added. 

“In the final training session before the crucial games, it had to be very intense. Kloppo complained when it didn’t go according to his plans.”
