MOHAMED SALAH PREMIER LEAGUE:-

Former Liverpool player Emile Heskey believes Mohamed Salah should have left the Anfield this summer if Liverpool had failed to claim the Premier League title.

The day finally came for Liverpool After a long wait and the Reds finally lifted the Premier League trophy that they are waiting for 30 years. They ultimately claimed the trophy with 18 points clear than their arch-rivals Manchester City.

Salah has been the top scorer from the last two seasons but he finally failed to secure third straight Golden Boot though his 19 goals for this Premier League season proved crucial for Jurgen Klopp’s side.

Heskey believes Salah is an important player for Liverpool but he admits that if the club failed to lift their Premier League this season, he would have guided the Egyptian player to find a new club.

Heskey told ONTime Sport “Mohamed Salah is a very important player for the team. If he’s not in it, you find Liverpool losing a lot of their strength going forward.

“Everyone on the pitch needs him, he scores and creates goals. Firmino and Mane are well connected with Salah’s presence on the pitch. He is a big part of the team’s strength and the trophies they’ve won.

“From my point of view, he should stay at Liverpool. If they didn’t win the league, I would have said that he should move to another place where he could win the title.

Salah had a contract with Liverpool till 2023, he has previously linked with Real Madrid and had a doubt about his future at Liverpool.

Salah told LA FM Columbia in July “No-one knows the future and what will happen. Let’s see what will happen,”

“But at the moment we win the Champions League we win the Premier League, I’m happy. Let’s see what will happen in the future, but I’m very happy to win and achieve those trophies.”

Liverpool and Salah had another great season this year but everyone has not been impressed with the Salah’s performances. Graeme Souness in his statement said that Salah is a super selfish attacker after a match against Brighton.

Souness told Sky Sports. “I think Mane has fallen out with him in the past over occasions where he feels he should have passed to him to score a goal and he shot himself,”

“So I think there is an element in all goalscorers that they’re greedy at times, but I think he takes it to another level.”

“But now that he’s won the league, he must continue and try to win it again and again. Salah has won all the titles with Liverpool but the challenge is to continue and try to win them again.”
