Messi wants to end his career here said Bartomeu.

Barcelona president Josep Maria Bartomeu has addressed that the Barcelona Talisman will remain at the club and end his career at Camp Nou amid speculation surrounding the future of one of the greats(Lionel Messi) in football history.

Cadena SER previously claimed Messi was ready to leave Blaugrana when his contract expires next summer as he is immensely disappointed and dishearted with how the club is presently being run. Messi is still in talks with a contract extension with the club and thus the speculation arises of his desire to leave the club after the summer.

Messi has yet not confirmed or commented on the transfer rumors, though his silence tells the situation that he has lost confidence and believes in Bartomeu administration at the club. Bartomeu’s position at the club is now looking increasingly unsafe.

The presidential elections which will be going to schedule for next year may be brought hope that the departure of Bartomeu may prevent one of the best players in the history of football leaving the club where he has spent his entire career.

Bartomeu himself dismissed all the rumors and he remains confident that Argentine international will sign a new contract and will continue to be playing at the club which he loves most.

He added “I am not going to give details but Messi has said many times that he will end his football life in Barcelona,”

“We are focused on the competition and there are negotiations with many players. Messi wants to continue and wants to end his career at Barcelona. He has many years left and we are going to enjoy him for much longer.”

Messi once again has shown his brilliance against Villareal in which he assisted twice and help Barcelona to be in commanding position, with two assists in Sunday’s 4-1 win at Villareal, Barcelona Talisman now has 19 La Liga assists for the season which is most in any particular season in la Liga.

Real Madrid is still at the top with four points clear with Barcelona, with four games remaining Real Madrid are favorite to win La Liga title.
