RB LEIPZIG FC:-

Kevin Kampl one of the midfielders of RB Leipzig relates the Liverpool star player Sadio Mane as his favorite teammate he has ever had in his footballing career.

Kevin Kampl and Sadio Mane played together for the Austrian club Red Bull Salzburg, however, Mane departed to play in English Premier League in 2014 where he joined Southampton. Klopp identified the talent of Sadio Mane and on 28 June 2016 Liverpool signed Sadio Mane for a transfer fee of 34 million which made him the most expensive African player in the history of Football.

Since joining Liverpool in 2016, he quickly became one of the most important players, he has shown his goal-scoring ability in league matches and in Uefa Champions League. He was named the African footballer of the year in 2019.

Mane is one of the most lethal attackers in world football, Kampl has revealed that the Mane goal-scoring ability and his footballing talent was never been in a question even when he was playing for Austria.

Kampl told Goal and Spox “I consider Sadio Mane my best team-mate during the time at Red Bull Salzburg.

“He just had everything for a footballer to have, the complete package. He was good on the ball, incredibly fast – both with and without the ball. He was very lethal in front of the goal and contribute by assisting his team-mates.

“It was already seen back then that he could become a really great player.”

Mane was the top scorer in Premier League’s and joint Golden Boot winner in the 2018-19 season with 22 goals. Sadio Mane played a vital role in Liverpool’s Champions League, Uefa Super Cup and Club World Cup win. Kampl currently plays for RB Leipzig, he spent most of his footballing career in Bundesliga.

Kampl added”I benefited the most from Schmidt, “He wanted to sign me when he was still a coach at SC Paderborn and I was still a player at VfL Osnabruck. The transfer failed due to the transfer fee.

“Shortly afterwards he went to Red Bull Salzburg and I went to VfR Aalen. I was only signed to Aalen for two months before Roger Schmidt brought me to Salzburg. I finally had my breakthrough there.”

Kampl was also a part of the Schmidt team at Bayer Leverkusen and he told his desire to depart the club once the manager did. He has great admiration for Schmidt and he also said that he is one of the best managers he played under.

He further added.”Roger Schmidt’s departure contributed to this but it was not the primary reason for me. When he subsequently took on a coaching job in China, I had an exchange with him and almost went with him, “I would have taken this step only because of him because I believe that I would not have reached so far if he was not there it’s impossible without him. Ultimately, however, there was no transfer to China.
