T20 WORLD CUP 2020:-

T20 world cup 2020 is going to be scheduled from october 18 to november 15 with total of 45 matches to be played. The venue for T20 world cup is Australia.

Australian wicket-keeper batsmen Alex Carey says playing a big tournament like T20 world cup without fans would be strange,it’s better to delay the T20 world cup so that the fans could enjoy the T20 action on the field.

T20 world cup is under threat because of the coronavirus pandemic happened all over the world. There might be a chance of cancellation of the tournament or might be scheduled to another date.

Alex Carey told ESPNcricinfo”That would probably be one of the best solution if you can put a date on it, but it’s not an easy thing to predict now to say if we postpone the World Cup or rescheduled to another date then three months later it would be fine to open the gates. I trust the guys well above my head to make the right decisions,”

“I’d say it would be a strange feeling (without the fans), no doubt. Playing the one-day World Cup in England and having the crowds of all different countries going crazy when they are playing or doing well is something that can’t be explained in words.”

“As a cricketer and a follower of the game, I’d do anything I could to represent my country at the biggest stage of the World Cricket(World Cup).”

He further added”Out in the middle, it’s that atmosphere you love and thrive on. Saying that, the environment, situation and landscape of the world has completely changed over the last three months and if it has to be that way I’m sure we’ll find a best solution to make it go ahead,”

“You want your supporters and loyal fans to be there, they play a massive factor in our sport and without the fans, we wouldn’t have a job. But I love playing cricket and even if there’s no one to watch the game I’ll still go out and play for the country.”

“We know our opening combination are likely to be Finch and Warner, throw in Steven Smith at the top, so we’ve been pretty consistent with our line-up in the last six months and it’s really valuable doing that,” Carey added.

“You know what your bowlers’ strengths are,and which particular bowlers can perform better in particular conditions, you know what the spinners can do -Zampa and Ashton Agar were mind blowing and fantastic – and the top of the order was making runs.”

“It was very enjoyable, quite a consistent and confident group with our roles very specific. We had a really good understanding. Again, I’m very confident, if in six months’ time the World Cup goes ahead we are playing some really good cricket we like our conditions here in Australia,” Carey said.

“I know the guys are still keeping fit and staying strong so if we do get an opportunity to play I think our game will be ready to go.”
